The first round of meaningful football games took place Thursday night, and we can already stop our search for hit of the year. Montana State linebacker Mac Bignell delivered it.
Fort Lewis College running back P.J. Hall caught a swing pass in the flat, and Bignell came sprinting in and absolutely leveled him. You would have thought there was helmet-to-helmet contact with the way Hall’s head snapped back, but that was merely an indication of devastating the hit was.
