
Memphis linebacker J.J. Russell was carted off the field on a stretcher Saturday after getting injured on a kickoff against UCLA.
The Tigers were kicking off after scoring a touchdown to take a 20-17 lead over the Bruins when Russell got hurt. The freshman came running down the field and was involved in a violent collision:

Trainers immediately came out to check on Russell, who appeared to be moving. He was taken off the field on a stretcher.
