
The Miami Hurricanes lost a key member of their defense in the first quarter of Saturday’s game against Virginia.
With less than two minutes remaining in the first quarter, cornerback Michael Jackson hit Virginia running back Chris Sharp, who was attempting to make a catch. After a review by the officials, Jackson was called for targeting and subsequently ejected from the game.
Canes Warning noted that this was the third time a Miami defensive back has been ejected for targeting this season.

Jackson will be eligible to play in Miami’s next game against Boston College. Jackson was an All-ACC Second Team selection last season. He entered play on Saturday with 21 tackles.
