A Miami football player was one of the people who were injured in a car accident on Saturday night that killed two children.
The Largo Police Department in Largo, Fla., confirmed to Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald on Sunday that 10-year-old Jabari Elijah Solomon and 4-year-old Charlie Herbert Solomon Riveria died after a Dodge Durango collided with a Kia Soul that was turning left at an intersection at 1:45 p.m. the day before.
Police did not identify the drivers of the car but said that several people were hospitalized with injuries. Andy Slater of Fox Sports 640 reported that Miami linebacker Adarius Hayes was one of the people who were taken to the hospital.
Investigators have also said that alcohol was not believed to have been a factor in the crash.

Hayes is not one of the deceased individuals, the Largo police department tells me, but he is hospitalized.

“This is an ongoing and active investigation, and no further information is available for release at this time,” Largo Police Department public information officer Megan Santo said in a statement.
Hayes, a former 4-star recruit who was one of the top linebackers in the country coming out of high school, is entering his sophomore season at Miami. He played in 11 games last season, mostly on special teams. Hayes had 4 tackles and an interception in the Hurricanes’ 56-9 victory over Florida A&M last September.
