Head coach Eric Morris and the Oklahoma State Cowboys stunned the No. 6 Oregon Ducks with a 39-31 win in Stillwater in Week 2.
It was a stunning loss for Dan Lanning’s Oregon team, and Oklahoma State had lost 12 games in a row coming into this one. Yet, it was the Cowboys who won the game.
On Tuesday, Jim Rome asked Morris if he allowed the team a little longer to celebrate the win, but Morris was as honest as could be.
“Absolutely not,” Morris said. “If you saw us play the first week, you would understand why… At our best, we’ve been really good this year. At our worst, no bueno. We got over this one in a hurry.”

Right after the win, Morris had a golden quote, saying he “might think about” retiring after the upset.
Oklahoma State hired Morris this offseason after Mike Gundy spent 21 seasons as the head coach in Stillwater.
Oklahoma State lost to Tulsa in Week 1, which made the Oregon upset even more surprising, especially with the Ducks being viewed as a College Football Playoff contender.
Oklahoma State faces Murray State in Week 3 before beginning Big 12 Conference play against West Virginia.
