Auburn RB Peyton Barber turning pro because mother is homeless
Auburn running back Peyton Barber would almost certainly benefit from another season in college, but the youngster does not have the luxury of being able to develop his game a little longer in the SEC.
That’s because his mother is homeless.
On Wednesday, Barber told reporters at the NFL Scouting Combine that he chose to declare for the NFL Draft after rushing for 1,017 yards last year because his family is in desperate need of financial security.

Barber has had a very tough life. He was homeless himself from ages 7-14. He has also been diagnosed with dyslexia and ADHD, according to Justin Rogers of MLive.com.
Barber is not ranked in the top 20 at the running back position by most draft analysts, and he knows he won’t be selected in the early rounds. However, he is hoping a team will take a flier on him late in the draft. We hope so, too.
