Pitt players fight with a Louisville ball boy

Several members of the Pitt Panthers got into a fight with a Louisville Cardinals ball boy in a bizarre scene during Saturday’s game.

Pitt linebacker Rasheem Biles intercepted a Miller Moss pass and returned it 75 yards for a touchdown late in the first quarter of Saturday’s game at Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh, Pa. Biles wanted to celebrate with the football after scoring, but a Louisville ball boy tried a bit too hard to do his job and retrieve the football.

That led to a bizarre scene in which Biles and defensive lineman Isaiah Neal battled to get the ball back. They succeeded, and Biles celebrated by doing a Eurostep celebration and tossing the ball into the crowd.

Biles wanted it back to give to his family, who sits in the front row of the section by that pylon. Biles made sure the ball arrived at the… https://t.co/iXTRbtTORk

Regardless of the reasoning, the incident made for a bizarre and confusing scene, and it did not really look great for Pitt. The Cardinals ultimately got the last laugh, as they stormed back from a 17-0 deficit for a 34-27 victory.

There is definitely some precedent for scuffles between ball boys and players. It would not be a surprise if the Panthers players involved in the incident are made to offer some sort of public apology.
