Ole Miss defensive lineman Robert Nkemdiche will miss the Sugar Bowl through suspension after being charged with marijuana possession.

Coach Hugh Freeze confirmed to ESPN.com that Nkemdiche is not going to play against Oklahoma State, citing a need to maintain discipline within the program.

Nkemdiche was charged with marijuana possession after breaking his hotel window and falling 15 feet while under the influence.

Despite all this, Freeze had nothing but praise for Nkemdiche, telling ESPN that he is “indebted” to him and crediting him for helping “change our program.” The defensive lineman has told Ole Miss officials that he intends to enter the NFL Draft. It remains to be seen how much this situation will affect his draft stock.
