The Ohio State Buckeyes took it to Indiana on Saturday with a 38-15 win at Ohio Stadium in Columbus, Ohio. Indiana entered the game undefeated, but the Buckeyes left no doubt about whom the better team is. Ryan Day even went out of his way to prove the point.

The game was fairly close at halftime with Ohio State leading 14-7. The Buckeyes then opened things up in the second half with 17 straight points to go up 31-7 before the Hoosiers added a late touchdown.

Ohio State broke a 39-yard run down to the 1-yard line with just over a minute left. Though running back TreVeyon Henderson had given himself up with the intent to run out the clock, Day decided to have his offense push for a touchdown anyway and add an extra score.

Day was asked by FOX’s Jenny Taft after the game why he pushed for the final TD despite the game being in hand and opposing coach Curt Cignetti conceding defeat by not using his timeouts.

“Well, you say ‘leave no doubt.’ These guys want to finish the game the right way. TreVeyon did the right thing going down at the 1-yard line. We ate up the clock. We didn’t want to put the defense back out there,” Day said.

“You just never know in games like this. It’s a top-5 matchup. So we wanted to finish it the right way and make sure that everybody knows it’s the Ohio State Buckeyes.”

Yes, that sure seems to be Ryan Day acknowledging he ran up the score to put an exclamation point on the win.

Ohio State is now 10-1 heading into their rivalry game against Michigan. The Buckeyes will have all the confidence in the world. And Indiana probably won’t forget the way things ended in this game.
