McLaughlin played in 36 games for Alabama from 2021-2023 and made 25 starts. He drew criticism for his inconsistent snaps to Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe during the season.
Throughout the SEC Championship Game and College Football Playoff, McLaughlin’s snaps were all over the place. One snap from McLaughlin caused Alabama’s offense to lose yardage in the third quarter of their defeat to Michigan. Then on the final play of the game in overtime, McLaughlin snapped the ball low to Milroe, who got stuffed on a run.
McLaughlin started all 14 games for Alabama this season after starting 8 games in 2022 and 3 in 2021.
