The son of a former New England Patriots star has the opportunity to follow in his father’s footsteps and play for Bill Belichick.
LeGarrette Blount Jr., the son of former Patriots running back LeGarrette Blount, confirmed Wednesday that he has received a scholarship offer from North Carolina. That marks Blount’s second Division I offer.

Blount Jr. is a 5’11”, 158 lb. athlete from Hamilton High School in Chandler, Az., according to 247 Sports. He also has an offer on the table from Marshall.
It will be a while before Blount Jr. plays for Belichick even if he does pick the Tar Heels, as he is a member of the class of 2028.
The elder Blount spent parts of four seasons with the New England Patriots in two separate stints. He rushed for 1,161 yards and a league-best 18 touchdowns for Belichick and the Patriots in 2016, and his team won the Super Bowl that year. That was one of three rings Blount won in a highly successful playing career.
Belichick has a pretty compelling message for his potential recruits at North Carolina. It will be a pretty tempting sales pitch for Blount Jr., though he has plenty of time to consider his future.
