Texas students to vote on bringing back rivalry football game with Texas A&M
Texas students will vote on Wednesday to decide whether they want to bring back the rivalry football game with Texas A&M.
The two schools played in football every year from 1915-2011, but that ended after A&M joined the SEC. There has been chatter about bringing the rivalry game back. Now the UT-Austin’s student body president and vice president have set up a vote to see whether students want the rivalry game back. Here’s the email that was sent out to the students encouraging them to vote on the matter Wednesday:

Texas leads the all-time series 76-37-5, so you would think they’d want to continue beating up on their rival. And it seems the interest is mutual.
Two years ago a Texas A&M regent expressed interest in bringing back the rivalry game. The head coaches of both programs, Kevin Sumlin, and at the time, Charlie Strong, also had interest in bringing back the game.
We’ll see what the students say and whether their vote spurs action one way or another.
