Tom Herman interested in Houston DC Todd Orlando
Tom Herman has openly shown interest in his former defensive coordinator at Houston, Todd Orlando.
Herman, who recently accepted the Texas coaching job and left Houston, was in Houston for an awards banquet on Wednesday and was asked about his interest in hiring Orlando. Herman made it clear he’s interested in Orlando but does not want to get in the way of Orlando preparing for the Cougars’ upcoming bowl game.

Herman recently hired former Rutgers offensive coordinator Drew Mehringer as his OC for the Longhorns. He was interested in bringing Orlando and Major Applewhite to Austin, but Applewhite was promoted from Houston’s offensive coordinator to new head coach. Orlando not getting the head coaching gig at Houston could lead him to join Herman at Texas.
