Two coaches did not vote Alabama No. 1 in final poll
Alabama is the overwhelming favorite to win another national championship this year, but two coaches apparently feel that the Crimson Tide are not the team to beat. One of those coaches is their own.
According to college football reporter Brett McMurphy, there were only two coaches who did not place Alabama No. 1 in their final regular season coaches poll of the year. One of them was Nick Saban, and the other was Pitt’s Pat Narduzzi.
In final @USATodaysports regular season coaches poll, only two coaches did not vote Alabama No. 1: Pitt’s Pat Narduzzi & Alabama’s Nick Saban. Both voted Clemson No. 1 & Alabama No. 2

Like Alabama, Clemson is also undefeated. They capped off a 13-0 regular season with a convincing 42-10 win over Pitt, so you can understand why Narduzzi put them ahead of Alabama. Saban’s vote is hardly a surprise, either, as he is always looking for ways to knock his team down a peg when expectations are so high.
However you look at it, Las Vegas oddsmakers certainly seem to think Alabama and Clemson are the two best teams in the country. It won’t be long before we figure out which is the better of the two and if they are both better than Notre Dame and Oklahoma.
