USC QB JT Daniels carted off with right leg injury

USC Trojans

USC Trojans starting quarterback JT Daniels was carted off the field at the Coliseum in Los Angeles just before halftime of the team’s game against Fresno State on Saturday night.

Daniels was sacked on a third down play at the Bulldog 15-yard line and lost a fumble, giving the ball to Fresno State. The USC sophomore was hurt on the play.

Daniels was helped off the field and did not put weight on his right leg as he exited. He then went into a medical tent for examination and was later carted into the locker room.

Daniels did give a thumbs up to the home fans:

Daniels was 25/34 for 215 yards, a touchdown and an interception prior to his injury. Freshman Kedon Slovis entered the game in Daniels’ place in the third quarter.

Jack Sears saw the most action behind Daniels last season but recently entered the transfer portal. Matt Fink, who also saw some action last season, is behind Slovis on the depth chart.
