Video: Joe Burrow learns of death of Carley McCord in interview with Dari Nowkhah
LSU quarterback Joe Burrow went the entire Peach Bowl game on Saturday without knowing about the tragedy involving his offensive coordinator, Steve Ensminger.
Ensminger’s daughter-in-law Carley McCord died in a plane crash on Saturday while traveling to the playoff game. The news only came out a few hours before the playoff game, and many fans only learned the news when ESPN shared it at the beginning of the game.
Burrow did not know what had happened until SEC Network’s Dari Nowkhah brought it up during a postgame interview:
Yikes. Dari Nowkhah broke the news of the plane crash to Burrow live during a postgame interview. Burrow ended up handling it well, and it had been talked about so much on the broadcast I don't really blame Dari for figuring the team knew. pic.twitter.com/IID00JLuJC

Ensminger coached despite what happened, and the LSU offense had a record-breaking performance in their 63-28 win over Oklahoma.
Tigers coach Ed Orgeron said after the game that he was giving the game ball to Ensminger.
