Wake Forest to honor Arnold Palmer with helmet decals, midfield logo
The Wake Forest football team will honor the late Arnold Palmer before its game against Syracuse on Saturday with a pregame ceremony. Players will carry a flag bearing Palmer’s famous umbrella logo onto the field as part of a series of tributes to the golf legend.
In addition, the Demon Deacons will wear stickers on their helmets honoring Palmer. The flag logo has also been painted at midfield of Wake Forest’s football complex in addition to all of the school’s other athletic fields.

Palmer played collegiate golf at Wake Forest, where he won multiple conference and NCAA championships. His statue currently stands outside the Arnold Palmer Golf Complex on the Wake Forest campus, and Wake Forest’s award for Male Student-Athlete of the Year is named the Arnold Palmer Award.
As we saw with a star NFL player paying tribute to Palmer with these cleats, the legend of the seven-time major champion is truly one that transcends the entire sports world.
