The Washington State Cougars marching band was working on a cool gesture to try and help out the rival Washington Huskies band.
One of the charter buses carrying members of the Huskies marching band overturned following an accident on Thursday night. Several people aboard were injured in the crash, which resulted in the Washington band not performing in Friday’s Apple Cup football game.
According to KOMO’s Eric Johnson, the Cougars marching band was practicing the University of Washington fight song to play in place of Washington’s band.

The Cougar marching band was on the field practicing the Husky fight song today because the UW band won’t make it after last night’s accident. The Coug band will play it in the absence. #GoCougs #AppleCup #KOMOnews pic.twitter.com/pYZaLPb76m

The Cougars band will obviously be hoping their school wins the game, but they’ll be performing with sportsmanship and human decency in mind.
