Will Howard makes brutal blunder on final play of loss to Oregon
Will Howard made a completely mind-boggling blunder on the final play of Ohio State’s 32-31 loss to the Oregon Ducks at Autzen Stadium in Eugene, Ore. on Saturday night.
The Buckeyes had a 3rd-and-20 situation from the Oregon 38 down 32-31 with 6 seconds left. Howard couldn’t find anyone open, so the Ohio State quarterback pump-faked and then ran down the middle for a gain. He slid just inside the 30, which would have put his team in field goal range. There was just one (big) problem: time had expired.
IT'S OVER. 🦆

What was Howard thinking making a mistake like that? The Kansas State transfer said after the game that he wanted to get his team into field goal range but didn’t realize he didn’t have enough time on the clock.
Fans won’t have much sympathy for Howard over that move. Ohio State is now 5-1.
