Jacksonville shooter had reportedly lost in Madden tournament
The person who opened fired at a Madden video game tournament in Jacksonville on Sunday did so after competing in the event and losing, according to a report.
Steven Javaruski, one of the gamers in the tournament, told the Los Angeles Times that the shooter opened fire after losing a game. Javaruski said the shooter “targeted a few people” and shot at least five people before turning the gun on himself. Javaruski estimated that he saw the shooter kill two or three people.
Javaruski sent several tweets after the shooting, including one where he said police escorted him out of the building.
Recent reports indicated that three people were killed and 11 others wounded. Jacksonville police urged everyone to stay away from the area and said they were unsure if there were any additional suspects. A horrifying livestream that was taken during the tournament captured the audio from the incident.
