Pole vaulter Dmitry Starodubtsev had a bit of misfortune during the pole vaulting finals of the World Championships in Daegu, South Korea. The Russian’s pole just snapped during the middle of his attempt. That’s not supposed to happen. Perhaps switching pole brands might be a good idea for Starodubtsev, who finished 12th. I’m just trying to figure out what’s a worse way to lose a pole vaulting event — like that, or like this.
