Aaron Glenn is getting an old take exposed in real time.
The New York Jets lost again on Sunday, falling to the Dallas Cowboys by a final score of 37-22 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J. The defeat dropped the Jets to a hapless 0-5 on the season.
With the Tennessee Titans winning later in the day after an improbable comeback against the Arizona Cardinals, that meant bad news for the Jets. They are now officially the only winless team in the NFL this year.
In the wake of the embarrassing development for the Jets, an old quote by their head coach Glenn resurfaced over social media. Glenn was hired by the Jets in late January and spoke in late February about the team’s decision at the time to release quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
“Every decision that me and Moug [Jets GM Darren Mougey] make is to win, and win now,” said Glenn. “This isn’t going to be the last decision I make that will upset some people, and that’s okay.”

Unfortunately for Glenn, the Jets still have yet to win a single regular season game in the over seven months since he issued that quote. Meanwhile, Rodgers, who ultimately went to the Pittsburgh Steelers, has managed three wins in four games (including a victory over the Jets themselves, after which Rodgers threw some shade at his old team).
The Jets did go just 5-12 last season and still have the longest active playoff drought in the NFL (14 seasons), so it was always going to be a process for Glenn. But considering that Glenn also embarrassed himself earlier this year with an early celebration before losing the game, he is certainly taking a whole lot of Ls right now.
