Adam Gase: Dolphins will not make quarterback change during season
The Miami Dolphins will not be making a quarterback change anytime soon.
According to coach Adam Gase, Ryan Tannehill will remain the team’s starter through the end of the season despite struggling mightily so far in 2016.
“He’s not coming out,” Gase said of Tannehill after Sunday’s 30-17 loss to Tennessee, via Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald. “You can ask me 100 times. He’s going to be in there the rest of this season.”
“I know coach has confidence in me — I have confidence in myself — and I think the guys on offense have confidence in me,” Tannehill said.
This isn’t going to make some Dolphins fans happy. It also doesn’t make a lot of sense. There’s still a lot of season left, and if Tannehill continues to be wildly inconsistent and reliable, there’s really nothing he can do to make Gase and his staff consider a change?
