Lawrence Timmons’s future with the Miami Dolphins looks very much in doubt — but head coach Adam Gase wouldn’t close the door on it completely.
Gase dodged questions directly related to Timmons on Wednesday, but he did offer that someone in Timmons’s situation could theoretically get himself back in the team’s good graces if he did the right things.
“I think every situation is different,” Gase said, via Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald. “And I would say you can be forgiven if the right steps are taken.”
Timmons is currently suspended after going missing hours before the Dolphins’ season opener, and he might end up at odds with the team over the loss of guaranteed money as a result. Gase is wise to keep the door ajar — but a lot will likely depend on how Timmons conducts himself in the weeks to come.
