Adam Gase: ‘I’m never going to go away from’ Jay Ajayi
Miami Dolphins running back Jay Ajayi has done more than enough to earn the trust of his head coach.
After Ajayi rushed for 110 yards and a touchdown in Sunday’s win over the New York Jets, Dolphins head coach Adam Gase gave the second-year back a big vote of confidence, per Joe Schad of the Palm Beach Post.
Very telling from Adam Gase on Jay Ajayi: “I’m never going to go away from him.” #Dolphins

Ajayi’s numbers over the last three weeks (including Sunday’s victory) are nothing short of staggering: 528 rushing yards and four touchdowns on 78 carries. Though Ajayi began the season competing with Arian Foster for starting duties, Foster got hurt early on and wound up retiring midseason, opening the door for Ajayi to take the job and run with it. For Gase, who has had some gripes about his team’s offense this season, Ajayi’s emergence has clearly been nothing short of a godsend.
