AJ Green reportedly unlikely to return in Week 12

Despite some initial hope, Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver A.J. Green won’t be able to go in Week 12.

The star receiver is nursing a toe injury and was moved to doubtful on the injury report, making him unlikely to play against the Cleveland Browns on Sunday.

The #Bengals have now listed WR AJ Green as doubtful. He began the week believing he could play on is toe injury, but didn’t practice all week. Now unlikely to play.

According to ESPN’s Josina Anderson, Green is close, and looks likely to return to action in Week 13.

My understanding is Green did test the toe today and that it feels much better now compared to earlier in the week, just not quite over the hump. His initial "questionable" status let you know there was hope this could be the week. Almost there, just not quite. https://t.co/CjbqjgZH9T

There had been rumors that Green had a chance to play this week. Apparently he and the Bengals gave it a real good faith effort but came up just a bit short.
