Aldon Smith reportedly arrested again, violated protective order
Just when it seemed like things could not get any worse for Aldon Smith, the former Oakland Raiders linebacker went and got himself arrested yet again.
Evan Sernoffsky of the San Francisco Chronicle reports that Smith turned himself in on Friday morning after a warrant was issued for his arrest. The warrant stemmed from Smith allegedly violating a protective order that prohibited him from contacting the victim in his March 3 domestic violence incident.

Smith was arrested earlier this month when his fiancee told police he bit her wrists before climbing out a window and fleeing in his vehicle. The woman said he had been drinking heavily and that the former Raiders linebacker called her parents to take him to rehab. A recent report indicated that Smith has a serious problem with alcohol abuse and those close to him are concerned.
Smith missed the entire 2016 and 2017 seasons while serving a suspension for violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy and a number of other things. He was hoping to be reinstated last March, but he was investigated for a separate domestic violence the month before and then involved in a bizarre incident in which his girlfriend collided with a police cruiser while driving Smith’s car. Smith denied reports that he had any involvement with the crash, but he revealed some information in an incredibly bizarre interview with reporters while leaving the police station.
The Raiders released Smith after his latest domestic violence incident, and it seems unlikely that the 28-year-old will ever play in the NFL again.
