Aldon Smith has checked into rehab, days after a video of him appearing to smoke a marijuana blunt made the rounds on the internet.
TMZ Sports reports the news about Smith, who is suspended by the NFL for a year due to past transgressions. Smith has been in rehab before in 2013 after two DUI arrests, but the 49ers allowed him to join the team after he completed his stay.
It’s unclear what Smith is in rehab for this time. Just a few weeks ago he posted a video of him smoking on Periscope, and the video went viral on Sunday.
Smith was finally released by the 49ers last August and signed with the Raiders a month later. He played in nine games for Oakland last season and is currently under contract with the team.
