Aldon Smith appears to deny it was him in marijuana smoking video

Aldon Smith blunt

Aldon Smith has seemingly denied that he appeared in a video that showed someone smoking marijuana on a social media account that is known to belong to him.

Smith, who signed a two-year deal with the Oakland Raiders in April, sent the following tweet on Monday after the video went viral Sunday.

Smith has been using Periscope, which is a social media service where people broadcast live, under the name “Ricky” with an account named “ravenga.” The video receiving a lot of attention is from a little over two weeks ago, and it features someone who sounds like Smith narrating a “fire up session” where a woman and man have a conversation about what appears to be a marijuana blunt.

You can watch the video here.

Smith’s name was even mentioned in the end when the male in the video says, ‘They don’t know it’s me, it’s not like I put Aldon Smith.”

Smith is currently suspended by the NFL for a year for multiple violations of the league’s drug policy, and he has had plenty of legal trouble through the early part of his career. This could certainly add to it if it is proven that it was his voice in the Periscope video.
