Aldon Smith’s blood alcohol content was five times legal limit
A closer look at the numbers show that Aldon Smith was not just drunk during his arrest on Friday, but he was on a dangerously close to death level.
TMZ Sports reports that Smith’s blood alcohol content was measured at 0.4, which is five times the legal limit and at a level that is typically associated with near death. Authorities were alerted to Smith’s situation when the former NFL player’s court-ordered device went off.
This is exactly why last month friends said that Smith had a serious drinking problem and were concerned for his life.
Smith is in jail, and his attorneys are seeking placement in a treatment facility for their client. Smith was released by the Raiders in March.
