Alshon Jeffery had a productive season with the Philadelphia Eagles and was one of the main reasons the team won a Super Bowl, and his performance is even more impressive when you consider that he played through a significant injury the entire year.
Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports that Jeffery underwent successful surgery to repair a torn rotator cuff on Wednesday. The injury was the same one he suffered when he landed awkwardly on his shoulder back in July.
#Eagles WR Alshon Jeffery had successful surgery this morning on a torn rotator cuff, sources say. He suffered it in training camp and played through it, somehow, on the way to a Super Bowl.

Jeffery appeared in all 16 games for the Eagles, catching 57 passes for 789 yards and nine touchdowns. He also made a huge impact in the postseason with 12 catches for 219 yards and three touchdowns. Given that he needed surgery, it would stand to reason that he was in pain all season.
While he may not have known he would be with the Eagles when he made his seemingly outlandish claim last year about winning the Super Bowl, Jeffery ended up delivering. The fact that he did so while playing through a torn rotator cuff says a lot about his toughness.
