Amari Cooper says he had no issues with Cowboys’ offensive scheme
The Dallas Cowboys obviously feel that there is plenty of room for improvement with their offense, otherwise they would not have fired offensive coordinator Scott Linehan. Amari Cooper, however, did not have any complaints.
Cooper was asked on Wednesday for his opinion on the Cowboys changing offensive coordinators. Given the situation he came over from in Oakland, it is no surprise he had no issues with the system in Dallas.
Amari Cooper said changing offensive coordinator is above his pay grade. “I didn’t have a problem with the offense. I liked where the offense was at. Obviously I was able to be more productive than I was in Oakland. I’m not one to complain about what’s going on.”

Cooper has a much different perspective from Cole Beasley, who went on a Twitter rant Tuesday about how the Cowboys’ front office makes sure the offense runs through certain players, and he has not been one of them.
Honestly, the front office pushes who they want to get the ball to. I haven’t been a huge priority in that regard. Maybe that will change but I’m not sure. More balls come my way in 2 minute drill where nothing is planned. https://t.co/ioih9BJJv1

Unlike Beasley, Cooper saw plenty of targets down the stretch last season. He seemed to provide the Cowboys with the true No. 1 receiver they had been lacking, so it’s no surprise Beasley has a different opinion from his. Beasley’s frustrations have been evident since the season ended, even if he claims he accidentally “liked” an Instagram post bashing Jerry Jones.
Cooper is entering the final season of his contract in 2019, and all indications are that the Cowboys want to keep him around.
