Art Briles will not be returning to the coaching ranks after all, according to a joint statement from the Canadian Football League and Hamilton Tiger-Cats.
Earlier in the day on Monday, the Tiger-Cats announced Briles would be joining the organization as an assistant head coach. However, after a meeting with the league, that will no longer be the case.

Briles, the former head football coach at Baylor, has been away from the sport after being fired as a result of a sexual assault scandal at the university. He will now have to wait longer to make a return to football.
