Baylor fires Art Briles, releases findings pertaining to sexual assault cover-ups
Baylor University announced on Thursday that head football coach Art Briles has been suspended indefinitely with the intent to terminate in the wake of an ongoing sexual assault scandal at the school.
Shortly after word surfaced that Briles has been fired after eight seasons with the team, Baylor released its findings from an independent review that was conducted by the Pepper Hamilton law firm in Philadelphia. The findings of fact, which can be read in full here, determined that Briles and other members of the Baylor football program chose not to report allegations of sexual assault by multiple players.
How do people allow this to happen? Mind-boggling. pic.twitter.com/5PHXaotnZG

Seems like Briles shouldn’t be the only football coach being shown the door. pic.twitter.com/UjDYxfQrNx

Briles came under fire last year after people learned that he allowed a player to join his team after that former freshman All-American had been dismissed from the Boise State program following a rape allegation. More recently, highly-touted pass-rusher Shawn Oakman went undrafted after he was charged with sexual assault.
