St. Louis Rams wide receiver Austin Pettis recently gave folks a full view of the Mighty Ducks tattoo everyone has been talking about since Monday night, and he even explained its origin. As we suspected, Pettis is a big fan of his hometown hockey team.
“One, it’s a great movie,” he told the Rams official website with a smirk. “No, I’m from Anaheim, born and raised. The Ducks were right down the street. I was able to watch the Angels and Ducks games my whole life. I grew up being a big fan. I know people wouldn’t expect a football guy to be a hockey fan, but I’m a sports fan.”
Unfortunately, Pettis sounded like he was joking when he referenced the “Mighty Ducks” movie series. We were all crossing our fingers that Charlie Conway was the inspiration behind the ink, but that doesn’t appear to be the case. In any event, it’s still one of the better tattoos we have seen on an athlete.
