Bears complete Hail Mary but only to 1-yard line
The good news for the Chicago Bears is that they completed an improbable Hail Mary pass at the end of their game against the New England Patriots on Sunday. The bad news is they ended up a yard shy of the end zone.
Mitch Trubisky’s heave towards the end zone on the final play of the Bears’ 38-31 home loss to the Patriots did not go far enough. Kevin White caught it around the 2-yard line and got about as far as the one before several Patriots combined to push him back.

And that’s how the game ended.
That may have been Trubisky’s best pass during a somewhat shaky game, but even that wasn’t good enough. Next time he’ll be sure to reach the end zone on his game-ending heave.
