Ben Roethlisberger was bothered by a remark from Jay Glazer and called the NFL reporter about it.
Last week, Glazer jabbed Roethlisberger by downplaying the Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback’s fitness. The story received attention and was seen by Roethlisberger, who reached out to Glazer about it.
Glazer was a guest on “The Jason Smith Show” last week and addressed the situation. Glazer said Roethlisberger’s agent reached out to him to say Big Ben was upset. Glazer downplayed things and said the two are on good terms.
“I make fun of Ben all the time and he makes fun of me,” Glazer stated. “It’s a locker room. We get after each other. But he was honestly upset by this and I credit him, too, that he called me back about it, or that he reached out. Because he reached out and then we talked about it. As a man, if you’ve got an issue with somebody, you call him. That’s why I called him. He called me back and we handled it and we hashed it out. And yeah, he’s like, ‘I am rehabbing,'” Glazer said, via Steelers Depot.
As Glazer shared, part of the reason why Roethlisberger was bothered was because the quarterback felt Glazer’s comment would influence the way fans feel about Big Ben’s rehab from elbow surgery. Glazer made clear that the comment had nothing to do with how Roethlisberger is rehabbing.
Though we were one of the sites that played a role in publicizing Glazer’s original remark, we did so because we found it humorous, not because we thought it represented Roethlisberger’s lack of dedication to football.
