Bill Belichick: Preparation for Peyton Manning different from Brock Osweiler
The Denver Broncos are expected to continue with Peyton Manning at quarterback for the AFC Championship Game on Sunday against the New England Patriots, but Bill Belichick says his team will be ready for all possibilities. That includes preparing for Brock Osweiler, who threw for 270 yards and a touchdown in Denver’s win over New England back in Week 12.
“Preparation is definitely different,” Belichick said Monday via WEEI of preparing for the two Broncos QBs. “Peyton has tremendous experience running this offense and having control of things at the line of scrimmage, more variations and fluctuations in what they do as opposed to probably more plays that are called and run with Osweiler. But both good players. We’ve had trouble with both of them so we’ll have to be ready for both guys.”
It’s unlikely that we’ll see Osweiler in the game. He’ll probably only enter if Manning gets hurt or if the future Hall of Famer plays terribly, which would likely mean the Patriots are winning big.
But this is the way it should be: Tom Brady and Peyton Manning squaring off in what could be the final game of Manning’s career. Belichick and the Patriots will be prepared.
