Report: Bills expected to cut Mario Williams

Mario Williams Bills

The Buffalo Bills plan to cut defensive lineman Mario Williams after the season, according to a report.

A source told the Associated Press on Thursday that Williams won’t be back with the team due to a disappointing season and an expensive contract. The Bills would save more than $12 million in salary cap room if they cut him.

This doesn’t come as much of a surprise. The 30-year-old has just four sacks this season, and he’s endured an extremely difficult season. It’s no secret that he hasn’t been able to fit into Rex Ryan’s defensive scheme, a scheme which he questioned early on in the season. He simply isn’t happy in the situation, and it seems like the right move for all parties involved to get rid of him.
