Bills reportedly forgot to charge headset batteries in London
The Buffalo Bills suffered a tough loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars in London on Sunday, and one of the things an irritated Rex Ryan spoke about after the game was the electronic communication issues his team had at Wembley Stadium.
Ryan called the technical difficulties “unacceptable,” and it seemed like he was complaining about the host. However, Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk reports that the Bills were having problems because they forgot to charge their headset batteries.
Per a league source with knowledge of the situation, the system wasn’t working because the Bills weren’t using fully-charged batteries. According to the source, checking the batteries is the responsibility of the team.
The batteries eventually were changed, and the problems were resolved.
Ryan said he didn’t understand why the Bills were having issues, but quarterback E.J. Manuel noted that it eventually got straightened out. If Florio’s report is true, Ryan has no reason to handle the situation the same way Pittsburgh Steelers coach Mike Tomlin handled a similar one earlier this season. That’s just downright embarrassing.
