The Buffalo Bills are bringing back a former All-Pro defender for the 2025 season.

The Bills agreed to a one-year deal with cornerback Tre’Davious White, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter. White stands to make up to $6.8 million as part of the agreement.

Bills and CB Tre White reached agreement today on a one-year deal worth up to $6.8 million, per his agents Kevin Conner and Robert Brown of @UniSportsMgmt. White now returns to Buffalo, where he played from 2017-‘23 and was a two-time Pro-Bowl selection.

White played for the Bills from 2017 through 2023, becoming one of the game’s best cornerbacks with Buffalo. He finished runner-up in AP Defensive Rookie of the Year voting in 2017, and eventually was named First-Team All-Pro in 2019, when he led the NFL with six interceptions.

White’s career with Buffalo was ultimately derailed by injuries. He tore his ACL in 2021, then suffered a torn Achilles in 2023. The Bills moved on from him last year, and he played 11 games for the Los Angeles Rams and Baltimore Ravens in 2024.

It is fairly unlikely that the 30-year-old will recapture the form that made him a shutdown corner for the first five years of his NFL career. Fortunately, the Bills do not necessarily need him to. Christian Benford emerged as a valuable starter last season, and the team also brought back Dane Jackson earlier in the offseason.

The Bills have tried to load up this offseason as they try to dethrone the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC. White is not the first big name the team has brought in to try to make that happen.
