Blake Bortles thinks Jaguars will still have doubters
Blake Bortles does not think his team’s surprising win over the Pittsburgh Steelers will change the opinion of Jacksonville’s doubters.
Speaking with CBS after the Jaguars’ 45-42 win over Pittsburgh on Sunday, Bortles said he expects to still have people questioning him and his team.
“I’m sure there will still be tons of people that are going to disapprove or talk negative or hate or do whatever they want,” Bortles said. “But we get to keep playing and we get an opportunity to go play in Foxboro next week for another week.”
Bortles is right. The Jags will be facing the Patriots, and not many people will expect them to win. It’s hard to pick a team led by Bortles to beat a team led by Tom Brady, no matter how good your defense is. The only question is whether the Jags will be motivated enough by slights to put together a winning game like they did against Pittsburgh.
