Bradley Chubb shares reason he’s happy about torn ACL
Denver Broncos defensive lineman Bradley Chubb has a remarkable outlook after suffering a partially torn ACL on Sunday.
Chubb said Tuesday that he sees the injury as a blessing because he was getting too complacent and needed the shake-up in his mentality.
“I’m happy this actually happened to me because I feel like in life, I was getting a little too complacent,” Chubb said, via Mike Klis of 9News. “With 12 sacks as a rookie, it’s kind of hard to keep that same grind, get that same thing. So I’m really happy that this happened to me because it’s a humbling experience.
“It’s going to get me back to that same guy that was hungry to get college offers, that same guy that was hungry to go out there and prove everybody wrong. I’m glad to be back in that same position.”
Chubb was dominant as a rookie, collecting 12 sacks. By his own admission, it apparently wasn’t great for his motivation. Given that he’s out for the season, he certainly has something to work toward now.
