Former NFL defensive back Brandon Browner was reportedly arrested in Los Angeles Monday night and charged with making criminal threats, which is a felony in the state of California.
According to TMZ, Browner is accused of making criminal threats against a woman. He was taken into custody on Monday evening and released at around 11 p.m. after posting $50,000 bail.
Browner, an undrafted free agent, was part of the original “Legion of Boom” with the Seattle Seahawks from 2011-2013. After winning a Super Bowl in Seattle, he was part of a championship team with the New England Patriots in 2014 and spent a season with the New Orleans Saints in 2015. Browner re-signed with the Seahawks last offseason but did not make the final roster. He appeared to announce his retirement back in January, but he is still technically a free agent.
The Seahawks were planning to convert Browner to safety, but the experiment failed. The 33-year-old played in the developmental Spring League this past offseason but was not invited to training camp with any team.
