Brandon Marshall ‘still a little angry’ about how tenure with Bears ended

Brandon Marshall Bears

Brandon Marshall still isn’t quite over how things went down when he left the Chicago Bears.

Marshall, who was regarded as a difficult character to get along with before his arrival in Chicago, said he wanted to fix his reputation upon arriving in Chicago, and felt he’d succeeded until his final year there in 2014.

“I can care less about stats and the awards,” Marshall said, via ProFootballTalk’s Michael David Smith. “I wanted my character to be rebuilt [in Chicago], and I did that. Then it was ripped away from me. So I’m still a little angry about that, but I’m just going to use that for motivation to keep going.”

Marshall’s actions led to him being traded to New York, and he has forged a good reputation with the Jets, with his teammates voting him team MVP for the season. Given how public Marshall was in complaining about his teammates, particularly Jay Cutler, I’m not sure he has anyone to blame but himself for the return of character questions. He’s done well to silence them in New York, though, and at least managed to keep the conflicts behind closed doors.
