Brandon Spikes’ AFC Championship ring being sold on eBay
Pending the outcome of the charges that have been brought against him in an alleged hit-and-run incident, former New England Patriots linebacker Brandon Spikes may never play in the NFL again. Heck, he might even end up needing some extra cash.
Apparently Spikes is trying to make a quick score by selling a piece of jewelry he earned with his old team. Spikes’ 2011 AFC Championship ring is currently listed on eBay for $19,499. The listing includes a certificate of appraisal that values the ring at $18,000, so Spikes (or whoever he sold the ring to) is seeking a bit more than it’s worth.
We were surprised the Patriots brought Spikes back this offseason, especially given all the issues he had with the team before he spent a season with the Buffalo Bills. I’m sure the team regrets the decision, and Spikes obviously doesn’t feel the need to hold onto any keepsakes. He might end up needing all the money he can get for legal fees and fines.
