Brandon Spikes’ agent says AFC Championship ring was stolen
Former New England Patriots linebacker Brandon Spikes’ 2011 AFC Championship ring was sold on eBay Tuesday afternoon, leading to speculation that he may have been in need of cash, looking to completely cut ties with the organization, or both. It was neither.
Spikes’ agent, Gary Uberstine, told Jeff Howe of the Boston Herald that the ring was stolen earlier this week before it was listed on eBay. Uberstine said eBay has been made aware of the theft and Spikes will file a police report.
If the ring was, in fact, stolen from Spikes, we doubt the eBay seller orchestrated the theft. That would have been pretty dumb of andyr2108, who has a 100 percent satisfaction rating on eBay and has received no negative feedback in the past year.
The ring sold for $19,499.
Spikes, who is facing four charges for his alleged involvement in a recent hit-and-run, is not the only former Patriots linebacker who has allegedly had a team ring stolen from him.
