Brian Daboll has high praise for Jayden Daniels
New York Giants head coach Brian Daboll thinks pretty highly of Jayden Daniels.
Daboll’s 2-6 Giants are getting set to host Daniels’ 6-2 Washington Commanders on Sunday for what will be the second meeting between the teams this season.
Daniels, who is a rookie, has been extremely impressive this season. The 23-year-old has completed 71.8 percent of his passes for 1,736 yards with 7 touchdowns and 2 interceptions. He has also rushed for 424 yards and 4 touchdowns.
Though he is only a rookie, Daboll thinks highly of Daniels.
“He’s one of the better quarterbacks in the league already,” Daboll said on Wednesday.
That’s high praise for someone who is just 8 games into his NFL career. But it’s hard not to agree based on what Daniels has already shown.
The question for Daboll is whether Daniels will start on Sunday.
Daniels has been dealing with a ribs injury and was limited in practice on Wednesday. Since he played through his ribs injury in Week 8, New York will have to plan for the rookie to play in Week 9 as well. If not, Marcus Mariota would be the next man up.
