Brian Daboll has interesting response to Malik Nabers concert video

New York Giants star wide receiver Malik Nabers attended a concert this week while still in the NFL’s concussion protocol, and it is fair to wonder whether head coach Brian Daboll approved of that decision.

Nabers has faced some criticism after photos and videos surfaced that show he attended the Travis Scott concert on Wednesday night at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J. The rookie missed last week’s game after he suffered a concussion in Week 4 and has been ruled out for Sunday night’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals as well.

Giants head coach Brian Daboll was asked on Friday if he had any issue with Nabers going to a concert given the circumstances. Daboll had a very brief response.

“Yeah, I’ll keep that all in-house,” Daboll said.

A reporter then followed up by asking if Nabers violated any protocol, to which Daboll simply shook his head and said “nope.”

If Daboll has no issue with Nabers attending the concert, that would have been a perfect time to put any speculation to rest. At the very least, it is noteworthy that he chose not to do that.

Players often miss just one game after suffering a concussion. It is not a good sign that Nabers will now miss at least two, especially since he sustained the head injury on a Thursday night and had even more time to clear protocol.

Nabers, the No. 6 overall pick in this year’s draft, has 35 catches for 386 yards and 3 touchdowns through four games. He is by far the Giants’ most explosive player, so they will likely miss the former LSU star against a Bengals offense that has been rolling in recent weeks.
