Broncos may limit Shane Ray until training camp due to wrist flareup
The Denver Broncos may limit Shane Ray going forward after his surgically-repaired wrist flared up again during minicamp.
Coach Vance Joseph said Monday that the team’s priority is to have Ray ready for training camp, meaning he could sit out many team activities for the foreseeable future.
Vance Joseph told me they are going to be smart with Shane Ray. Training camp is what they want him ready for. I wouldn’t be surprised if he doesn’t do much at all the rest of the spring. It’s same wrist that put him on the shelf last year.

Just swelling and soreness, which happens post-surgery sometimes when activity ramps up. Rehab was positive, strength is good. Ray should be OK. https://t.co/cbMvZ6o2kT

It doesn’t sound like there’s much long-term concern for Ray, who featured in eight games last year due to recurring issues with his wrist. After 12 sacks in his first two NFL seasons, a healthy Ray would do a lot toward helping the Broncos get back to where they once were defensively, and there’s no need to push him too hard right now.
